According to the decree 2020-1396 of 17/11/2020 on the signaling of blind spots was published on 19/11/2020 in the official journal.

The new blind spot warning system will come into effect on January 1, 2021 and must be affixed to any vehicle in circulation with a gross vehicle weight of more than 3.5T. With the exception of :

• agricultural or forestry vehicles
• winter service vehicles
• intervention vehicles of freeway or dual carriageway management services
